One game, though, Limbus Company, has seen a particularly impressive spike, with its peak jumping by over 70,000 between June and July this year.
For those unaware, Limbus Company is a free-to-play strategy gacha title released in February 2023. It's described as: "As the Executive Manager of Limbus Company, lead your group of twelve Sinners, venture into the buried facilities of Lobotomy Corporation, and lay claim on the Golden Boughs."
Earlier today, the game received a significant content update, featuring new target extractions and E.G.Os. This new content is obviously huge for players, as they have flooded back in their droves.
According to SteamDB, Limbus Company peaked at 115,862 concurrent players on Steam in the early hours of Thursday morning. The game's developers, ProjectMoon confirmed that a further 135,000 players had jumped in on mobile, bringing the total amount of concurrent players to over 250,000.
