It's been three years since the launch of Elden Ring, but we can't be sure that we've discovered every secret and reference in the game. I'm sure Miyazaki and crew have hidden some secret that is yet to be discovered in the far reaches of The Lands Between or the Land of Shadow from the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion.

Nightreign might be more important to the story of Elden Ring than we first thought.

However, it seems some players are only now discovering some new things in the very first thing we see with regard to the game. This secret can be seen before creating your character, before waking up in The Lands Between, and even before inserting the disc into the game. The cover art of Elden Ring features a more Tarnished, and people are just noticing.
