Despite the mixed reception from long-term fans, Skate lead is certain the reboot is the "best Skate has ever felt"

Although the upcoming live-service Skate reboot has seen a lot of negative feedback from fans when it comes to its live-service elements, visuals, and even game feel, its leads are still confident that it's the "best Skate has ever felt".

Over the past decade and a half since Skate 3 originally released all the way back in 2010, fans have been chomping at the bit for EA to finally bring the series back in a big way. That wish seemed like it was going to be granted in 2020 when a fourth game was finally confirmed, but it's fair to say that it's been a bit of a mixed road for Skate since then.

The reboot might be skating in the wrong direction.

The past year or so has seen many Skate playtests taking place, with the most recent one being publically shared and commented on. While fans do seem to have chilled out on the Skate reboot a little compared to the last playtest from earlier in the year, the reaction still hasn't been great, with most long-term fans pointing out the cartoonish visuals, lack of skater energy, and live-service issues.
