Unfortunately, It Looks Like The New Hunter x Hunter Game Is Still Banned In Australia

In case you missed it, the first Hunter x Hunter game to release on consoles in well over a decade is officially out. Hunter x Hunter: Nen x Impact is out now on PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch, and while most anime video game fans are out enjoying the game, the same can't be said for those living in Australia.

Hunter x Hunter: Nen X Impact’s excellent tag-fighting just about makes up for its awkward presentation and low-budget story mode.

That's because, after being refused classification back in December, the game was seemingly never resubmitted for another consideration, effectively leaving the game banned in a region where reportedly 91 percent of households have a gaming-related device.

Over on the Australian government's rating classification board, the country's equivalent to PEGI and ESRB, Nen x Impact continues to bear the mark of "Refused Classification" or RC, meaning the game is essentially banned in the region.

It was classified back in November 2024, and has not had its status change in the months since, even as the game inched closer and closer to release. Unfortunately, it still isn't clear all these months later as to why the game was even...
