Everyone was thinking the same thing about one of Donkey Kong Bananza's major characters, but now that some have seen the game through to the end, it turns out we were all wrong. Kind of.

It's felt like an eternity since the Nintendo Switch 2 first launched with Mario Kart World, but we've finally got a brand-new first-party game to get excited about - Donkey Kong Bananza. DK's first big adventure in more than a decade is as great as we all hoped, even if most of us were wrong about a specific character's identity.

Before Bananza released, hopeful Donkey Kong Country fans theorised that one of the game's new villains, Void Kong, was actually King K. Rool in disguise.
