Nintendo sleuths have discovered a job page on LinkedIn that claims a strategy RPG for the Switch 2 is in development, one that may be tied to an existing first-party franchise, as it’s said to be a sequel.
Now that Donkey Kong Bananza is available to the public, the Nintendo Switch 2 library is looking bare, at least when it comes to first-party titles. There are some exciting cross-gen titles coming, but right now, there aren’t too many reasons to go out and buy a Switch 2, outside of pure FOMO.
Users on the Gaming Leaks and Rumors Reddit stumbled upon a LinkedIn page for a person named Takeshi Maruyama, who is a 3D Character Model artist with a history that includes working for Sega and Nintendo. Their most recent job role was working for Nintendo from January to April 2025, as a 3D Character Modeler on “the sequel of Nintendo’s SRPG (Tactical role-playing game) for the Switch 2.”
