In what many would consider unsurprising, Arrowhead Studios is doubling down on Helldivers 2, making it clear that it's here for the long haul.
Last December, Helldivers 2 game director, Johan Pilestedt, claimed Arrowhead Studios is "growing Helldivers 2 into Helldivers 3". Today, studio CEO Shams Jorjani spoke on how Arrowhead still doesn't have a sequel planned at all. While live on the official Discord server for Helldivers 2 (as reported by GamesRadar+), Jorjani said, "HD3 is hopefully many years away," which could be taken as the "growth" Pilestedt mentioned before.
Jorjani went on to explain that while it is "great to be along for the ride," the studio's primary focus is to continue working on Helldivers 2 until the wheels fall off, revealing he does indeed know where the road leads for the future of Helldivers 2.

But while there is a plan, Arrowhead isn't locking anything in. As previously reported by GamesRadar+, community manager Katherine "Baskinator" Baskin has said that everything about Helldivers 2 is "subject to change" as development continues.
