Earlier today, we lost one of the truly great pioneers of heavy metal, as it was announced that Ozzy Osbourne has passed away aged 76. At the time of writing, the cause of Ozzy's death has not yet been confirmed, though the singer had been battling with Parkinson's disease and a spinal injury that occurred in 2019. On Twitter, it was explained that Ozzy was "with his family and surrounded by love" when he passed.
"It was always meant to be a world that could be further built upon. But after 15 years, it's tricky to know what's expected."
It didn't take long for tributes to start pouring out on social media, given the gigantic impact he had on music, and that extended into the gaming sphere too. Ozzy Osbourne wasn't involved too much in video games during his career, but the few times that he indulged were memorable and iconic, whether it be rocking out to Mr. Crowley in Guitar Hero: World Tour, or his classic TV ad for World of Warcraft's Wrath of the Lich King expansion.
