Two months ago, NetherRealm confirmed that Mortal Kombat 1 support had officially ended and that no future DLC would be released. However, even with the studio abruptly moving on, it just teased that it has some "exciting" updates left in store.

"We look forward to players showcasing their skills at the highest level at this year's EVO 25 tournament," the official Mortal Kombat account tweeted. "Soon after we will be releasing some exciting changes for Mortal Kombat 1. As always, we'd love to hear feedback from the community on potential changes. Stay tuned for more!"

Fans are already jumping into the comments to share their ideas, from adding online rooms to tag team fights and stage fatalities. In reality, these changes will likely be balance tweaks and small adjustments, rather than anything drastic, given that NetherRealm is now busy with its next project — rumoured to be Injustice 3. Still, the community can dream.
