You'll Be Playing The Assassin's Creed Shadows DLC Sooner Than You Think

Earlier this year, Ubisoft revealed its post-launch roadmap for Assassin's Creed Shadows, confirming that the Claws of Awaji expansion is due to launch sometime in 2025. But we might be playing it a lot sooner than we expected.

As reported by Insider Gaming, Ubisoft mentioned in an earnings report that the first major DLC will release by the end of September; "Ahead of the Holiday season, the mid-term potential of the game will be supported by the Claws of Awaji expansion, coming in Q2, that will introduce more than 10 hours of new content along with a new weapon, skills and abilities, further expanding and enriching the game experience."

It was revealed in the same report that Shadows has hit five million players.

Insider Gaming also reported back in May that Claws of Awaji was targeting a September release, lining up with the Ubisoft earnings report. So, in all likelihood, the expansion will launch in just a couple of months.

The DLC will take Naoe and Yasuke to the titular island of Awaji, beyond Osaka Bay, to find a mysterious lost treasure, all while being hunted by the Sanzoku Ippa. The new weapon type that Ubisoft mentioned...
