The Nintendo Switch 2 has reportedly been the fastest-selling console in history, and now we're getting new sales analytics that confirm the console has broken a 12-year record previously held by the PlayStation 4. July has been a major month for the Switch 2, with the release of Donkey Kong Bananza, the Pokémon Presents showcase, and a possible Nintendo Direct. Not even two months after its release, the Switch 2 is the talk of the industry.

According to a Bluesky post from executive director and video game industry analyst at Circana Mat Piscatella, the Switch 2 has sold 1.6 million units in America during its launch month, beating the previous record held by the PS4, which sold 1.1 million units over the same length of time back in 2013. Additionally, consumer spending for both video game hardware and accessories reached new all-time June records.

Impressively, the Switch 2, priced at $449.99 (or $499.99 for the Mario Kart World bundle and upcoming Pokémon Legends: Z-A bundle), has sold even faster than the PS4 did in 2013, which was priced at $399, significantly cheaper than the Xbox One at $499 at launch and releasing around the same timeframe....
