Rocket League will receive a nice graphical boost when played on next-gen systems.

Rocket League will see a graphical boost when played on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. In a blog post, developer Psyonix detailed the boost that the game will receive when played on next-gen systems. The game will be available at launch for the new consoles, and will allow players to carry over their Rocket Pass progress and inventory when transferring to the new systems. Players will see significantly faster load times, as well as improved split-screen performance. There will also be special enhancements coming later this year depending on what system gamers are playing on.

On the Xbox Series X, Rocket League will run at 4K at 60 FPS with HDR in Quality mode at launch. In Performance mode, the game will run at 2688x1512 resolution at 120 FPS with HDR. Later this year there will be an update that will allow players to select between Quality and Performance. One the Series S, the game will run in Quality mode at 1080p at 60 FPS with HDR at launch. In Performance mode, the game will run at 1344x756 resolution at 120 FPS. On the PlayStation 5, Rocket League will run at 4K (checkerboard) at 60 FPS with HDR.

Psyonix also stated that gamers should stay tuned for more information on the timing of next month's update for Rocket League

Rocket League went free-to-play back in September, with Season 1 officially starting at the same time. The game also released cross-platform progression in September. This allows players to share their inventory, Competitive Rank, XP Level, and Rocket Pass progress across any system that they play the game on.

Rocket League is available for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and the Nintendo Switch. The game will also be available for next-gen systems at launch.
