Persona 5: The Phantom X has had a rocky start to life in the West, as despite being touted as a great game for its gameplay, comical villains, and, unsurprisingly, amazing music, the past week or so has seen fan perception towards the game shift dramatically.

That's mostly down to the game's treatment of global players, as while it was announced the game's release schedule would be quickened to try and catch us all up to the game's Chinese servers, the rewards and currency dished out weren't increased. In fact, global players were getting less than the game's Asian servers, and many felt like the players on the global servers were being "treated like trash".

That discontent now appears to be reflected in the game's player numbers, as Persona 5: The Phantom X has seen a very sharp decline. Despite having only launched less than a month ago, the game's player count has dropped by almost 80 percent, with a grand total of 8,433 playing at the time of writing.
