The next Pokémon GO Community Day takes place this weekend.

The next Pokémon GO Community Day, which focuses on Magmar, takes place this weekend. The event will be held on Saturday, November 21st. It will start at 11:00 a.m. local time, and will end at 5:00 p.m. During this time, Magmar will appear more frequently in the wild, with there being a chance of encountering a shiny. Evolving Magmar during the event or up to two hours after will net players with a Magmortar that will know the move Thunderbolt. Players will be able to hatch a Magby from 2 km eggs.

There will be Event-Exclusive Timed Research and Field Research tasks available that can net players a Sinnoh Stone and other items when completed. For $1, gamers will be able to access the Magmar Community Day-exclusive Special Research story No Match for Magmar. There will be a special one-time purchase Magmar Community Day box available for 1,280 PokeCoins, which will include and Elite Charged TM, three Super Incubators, three Lucky Eggs, and 30 Ultra Balls. Bonuses during the event include 1/4 hatch distance for Eggs placed in Incubators during the event, and Incense activated during the Community Day lasting three hours.

Earlier this month it was revealed that Pokémon GO has earned over $1 billion in the first 10 months of 2020. This is the best that the game has performed since it released in 2016. The game's impressive year came during the COVID-19 pandemic, as developer Niantic implemented a number of features throughout the year that allows gamers to play from home while following social distancing rules. This included items that will allow players to participate in Raids remotely, and and increase in Incense duration. Players have also been able to participate in events from the safety of their homes.

Pokémon GO is available now for mobile devices.
