Battlefield 6 has no chance of beating Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 if one specific leaked detail turns out to be true. The long-standing rivalry between the two franchises is set to be reignited later this year, but Battlefield 6 may have already put itself at a distinct disadvantage.
Despite Call of Duty and Battlefield being two very different types of shooters, fans have often pitted them and their success against one another. Where Call of Duty was all about the gunplay, Battlefield's large-scale blend of boots-on-the-ground and vehicular combat offered a more realistic combat experience. However, the struggles of previous release Battlefield 2042 and the lack of a new title in almost four years mean that Call of Duty has undeniably been the more relevant franchise of late, leaving Battlefield to fight an uphill battle from the start.
