In just 13 days, fans of the Mafia franchise will play the next iteration, Mafia: The Old Country, the first new Mafia came in nearly a decade. Ahead of its release on August 8, developer Hangar 13 has been showcasing different elements of the game, from its story on the origins of the Mafia itself to its old-school gameplay elements, like horse riding and old-timey weapons.
The prequel may be linear but it still seems bloated with uninteresting gameplay.
That said, not everyone, particularly long-time fans of the series, is convinced that The Old Country looks like a good game. Immediately following a nine-minute gameplay look, fans began criticizing the upcoming title, one that will debut at a rather modest $49.99 pricetag and not the $80 pricepoint that gamers have been expecting.
If you're part of that group that wasn't particularly impressed with The Old Country, then it looks like Hangar 13 is already beginning preliminary work on another Mafia game, one that could potentially have a bigger budget or be in line with what's currently being worked on.
