2XKO represents an exciting prospect for the fighting game community. Riot Games is a completely new player in the scene, but has the budget and development chops to carve off a slice of the fighting game market share. There's also the fact that 2XKO is a tag-team fighter, allowing players to control two characters in combat, rather than the traditional single combat format of a lot of 2D fighting games.

The initial roster announcement was met with disappointment by some fans, who were hoping that Riot would include some of League of Legends' more monstrous characters. The initial roster of Ahri, Braum, Darius, Ekko, Illaoi, Jinx, Yasuo and Vi are all humanoid characters, and many of them are considered 'typical' inclusions because of their popularity in League, and other mediums set in League's universe.

Ekko, Jinx and Vi are three of the main characters in Arcane, so you can imagine how popular these three are. Yasuo remains one of the most popular champions in League; a poster-child for the fast-paced nature of the game, and its high skill ceiling. Ahri's design has always been popular, evidenced by her 21 different skins.
