The latest Fortnite season has deployed Power Rangers, Megazords, and Halo Spartans (what a sentence) to do battle on the island. Alongside new outfits, an insect menace has infiltrated the island and fans (and now developers) couldn't help but draw comparisons between this season and another live-service title that revolves around shooting bugs. Of course, we're talking about Arrowhead Studios' Helldivers 2.
As reported by Video Gamer, similarities between the Fortnite Shock 'N Awesome season and Helldivers 2 were drawn almost immediately, and can be traced back to the initial Fortnite season trailer, where the live-action Mighty Morphin Power Rangers made their television return (albeit on a small scale). Even a prominent Fortnite leaker has asked where the collab is for Super Earth and Battle Island.
The top-ranked comment on the official Fortnite trailer reads, "So who else thinks Super Earth should deploy some Helldivers for this bug infestation?" A clear call-to-action for Arrowhead Studios' Helldivers 2. It appears the leaders of Super Earth (prominent figures at Arrowhead) have also noticed, and they find the comparisons "super cool."
