Crimson Desert Has Been Delayed To Next Year

Pearl Abyss has pushed the launch of Crimson Desert to Q1 2026. The massive open-world RPG received an in-depth gameplay showcase during The Game Awards 2025, where the developer confirmed the 2025 launch. However, it seems that the team has not been able to meet timelines in order to launch the game this year.

The news, which was spotted by Gematsu, came from Pearl Abyss' Q2 2025 earnings call, where a representative mentioned that the project is currently in the process of voice-overs, and getting console certification for its launch. However, despite the fact that it will feature at Gamescom and PAX West in August, it will not be able to launch in 2025, as previously planned.

“The launch of Crimson Desert, our first large-scale AAA console game, has been unavoidably delayed by one quarter, from the previously announced schedule," said a Pearl Abyss representative. "This is due to longer than expected timelines arising from schedule coordination and collaborations with multiple partners for offline distribution, voice-overs, console certification, and other launch preparations. We sincerely apologize for not being able to meet the originally promised fourth quarter launch schedule."
