Martha Is Dead, the aptly named "dark psychological thriller" has been confirmed for PS5 in addition to its previously revealed Xbox and PC versions.

Martha Is Dead comes from an Italian indie studio called LKA which previously created The Town of Light, a similarly dark and gripping story about a young woman's investigation of her own troubled past. Like The Town of Light, Martha Is Dead takes place in the developer's home country of Italy. In it, players take on the role of the deceased Martha's twin, who is sent reeling after her sister's body washes ashore. All of it unfolds as World War II rages around her, leading to a multi-layered conflict.

The game was announced in August as coming to Xbox and PC, but now it's been confirmed alongside a new trailer that it's coming to PS5 at launch as well. See the game in action in this new trailer below featuring some unsettling puppet scenes.

“Now players have next-generation consoles in their hands, it’s exciting to watch Martha is Dead take shape on both PlayStation and the Xbox family of devices,” says Leo Zullo, Managing Director, Wired Productions. “The game builds upon developer LKA’s signature style of deep, multi-layered narratives and was always intended to be a multi-platform release that raises expectations of what can be achieved by an indie studio on next-generation hardware and PC.”

“Martha is Dead represents a step forward for LKA,” offers Luca Dalco, Founder & Director, LKA. “This is a game that merges the raw power of PC and next-generation consoles, and all we’ve learned from developing  The Town of Light. Martha is Dead is an evolution in psychological storytelling, and we’re driven to build a compelling, gripping world Full of twists and turns for players to explore in 2021.”

Martha Is Dead arrives next year for current-gen consoles and PC.
