Resident Evil Insider Says Requiem Will Be The Final Numbered Title In The Series

Resident Evil Requiem is going to be a lot of things for the series. It's a return to a familiar setting, as we seemingly explore the ruins of a bombed-up Raccoon City, while it's also the start of a new character's journey, as we'll be playing as new protagonist Grace Ashcroft. It's also reportedly planned to be a send-off for Leon Kennedy, as our favorite bingo-loving hero is getting too old for all this zombie nonsense.

It's going to represent a massive change for the series, and apparently, in far more ways than just the in-game lore. Earlier today, Resident Evil insider Dusk Golem took to Twitter to reveal more things they've heard about Resident Evil Requiem and the series in general, and it sounds as though Capcom is planning a major shakeup.

According to Dusk Golem, Resident Evil 9 has always been considered a "conclusion chapter" by Capcom, and will actually be the final numbered game in the series. Dusk Golem says that Resident Evil 9 will be "new beginnings" for the series as a whole, though they either don't know or expand on exactly what that could potentially mean.
