"Large Maps Exist": Worry Not Battlefield 6 Fans, There Will Be Big Maps Waiting For You At Release

The first weekend of Battlefield 6's open beta was a massive success, attracting over 520,000 concurrent players at its peak on Steam. The beta isn't without its flaws, but there's a feeling of excitement in the community that Battlefield 6 could match the series' peak, the good 'ol days of Battlefield 4.

One aspect of the beta that did draw criticism is the relatively small size of the three available maps: Siege of Cairo, Iberian Offensive and Liberation Peak. These three maps offered constant action, but some players were critical, saying they didn't adequately capture the 'vibe' of Battlefield.

Personally, I understand the criticism. For me, Battlefield has always been about fighting over a small corner of a huge map for 45 minutes, and knowing, in the back of your mind, that similar skirmishes are unfolding for other small scraps of territory.

Rest assured, according to Battlefield 6's lead producer, David Sirland, there will be large maps present in the game at release (nice spot, GameRant).
