Battlefield 6 is having a (battle)field day with its second open beta test. While there have been a few hitches, as with any beta, it's safe to say that it's been a success so far. Things are already looking good for EA and Dice, who were probably looking to bounce back from the disappointment of Battlefield 2042.

While EA conveniently blamed external factors, Battlefield 2042 was riddled with performance issues and lack of regular content, resulting in players eventually dropping off. In fact, things were recently so dire for the game that Battlefield 6 almost had the same number of players as 2042 even in its pre-load phase. However, that might change after the open beta, as it looks like the previous title is getting new content.

Almost four years after launch, Battlefield 2042 might just get the opportunity to have a last hurrah before the launch of Battlefield 6. According to dataminer temporyal, the game may be getting a "surprisingly big" and "maybe final" new update soon, featuring a map, weapons, vehicles, and Battlefield 6-themed cosmetics.

Considering that the Battlefield 6 open beta ends on August 17, and the final game launches on October 10, perhaps EA...
