Does Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater effectively replace the 2004 classic? That's up to your individual taste. It's a straightforward answer that won't satisfy everybody, but it's probably the truth. Even if you're searching fiendishly for official stances from prominent voices in the game's production, you'll not find them; but series producer Noriaki Okamura and Snake's iconic voice actor, David Hayter, have still managed to spruce up the reply in a thoughtful manner.

As part of a far larger interview with PC Gamer magazine, both Hayter and Okamura offered up their personal insights. It's a lavishly-printed piece, which you should totally go and grab, but I've admittedly not yet done so myself. Thankfully, the good folks at GamesRadar detected some very nifty tidbits, including this one.

"I was literally playing the original Metal Gear Solid a couple of days ago, and it's still a banger," Hayter said, once again proving to the world just how fantastic he truly is. "Will [Delta] replace [MGS3]? I don't know. I just think it's a different, upgraded version." Spot on, if you ask me, except that I suppose I might argue that it's not really all that different.
