"No, Not Yet": Even After Battlefield 6's Open Beta, Fans Still Aren't Pre-Ordering

Battlefield 6 is real. It's coming later this year on October 10, and it has an Open Beta this weekend that's totally free to join in on. In the lead-up to the game's official reveal, over 1.3 million people attempted to sign up for Battlefield Labs, then when the beta did go live last weekend, it became Steam's second-most successful beta of all-time.

That said, despite its massive popularity and relatively long queue times, some longtime Battlefield fans are simply unconvinced about whether to pre-order the next entry in the first-person shooter franchise.

In a thread shared on Reddit simply titled "Are y'all Buying BF6 After Beta?", over 7,000 gamers offered their take on the situation. Put simply, many are still holding out.

"No. Will wait how the launch goes," the top commenter wrote. That's a fair take, especially considering how rough past Battlefield launches have been, something EA is actively hoping to avoid with BF6.

"I need to see larger maps and some commitment to a locked weapon system," another user wrote. That statement was echoed by another gamer who wrote, "Currently no until I see what the bigger maps are like...
