Former Ubisoft Employee Reveals A Cancelled Rayman Project From 2021 That Looks Like A Remake Of The First Game

A former Ubisoft employee has revealed that a remake of the first Rayman was in the works at some point before getting cancelled in 2021.

For a long time now, Rayman fans haven't had much to be excited about, save for the occasional bit of merch and a starring appearance in a Mario + Rabbids expansion. That looks set to change soon, though, as it's been confirmed that Ubisoft is finally making a new Rayman game, albeit one we know nothing about yet.

Not counting the Sparks of Hope DLC, it's been nearly 12 years since Rayman had his last full-fledged game, and we surprisingly haven't heard about any others that were in the works during that decade and a bit. It seems like there were plans, though, as a previously unknown project has just been shown off for the first time.

As pointed out by Twitter user RaymanTogether, a former Ubisoft employee recently shared some work that they did at the studio as a VFX artist in 2021. The LinkedIn post that they shared reveals that they had a chance to work on a Rayman project in 2021 that sadly didn't end up going anywhere.
