Borderlands 4 will be released on Nintendo Switch 2, you will just have to wait until three weeks after it launches on everything else. You also won't be able to play the game in splitscreen co-op on Switch 2, something Gearbox and 2K quietly confirmed right at the bottom of Switch 2's Borderlands 4 support page.

After noting the slightly later release date, and then confirming all editions available on other platforms are available on Switch, and then after also confirming it has the same pre-order bonuses, the list of FAQs addresses the previously unknown splitscreen co-op issue. "Switch 2 players will have the same exciting Borderlands 4 experience as other platforms minus the split-screen option," the support page reveals.

It does quickly pivot back to sharing good news, noting that even though you won't be able to play Borderlands 4 locally on a shared Switch 2, it will support crossplay. That means you can play through the game in co-op with another player, regardless of their chosen platform. Unfortunately, unlike splitscreen co-op, that will require them to buy their own copy of Borderlands 4 and a PC or console to play it on....
