Summer is almost over in the northern hemisphere, and that sadness is lingering around. While kids are dreading going back to school, Battlefield vets and newcomers are mourning the end of the Battlefield 6 open beta. And yet, it's Battlefield 2042 that I feel bad about now.
The lights have yet to dim on the stage, but people are already saying good riddance to one of EA's most troubled children in the Battlefield franchise. The heavy atmosphere has not gotten in the way of the development team though, and it has prepped a big surprise for fans of the game.
Battlefield 2042 update 9.2.0 is a stoppage time surge to inject some life into the game before Battlefield 6 sucks the air out of it when it releases on October 10. The surprise patch comes with new weapons, new aircraft, and the return of one of the coolest maps ever since Battlefield 1942.
