Marvel Rivals Has Permission To Add Original Characters, And The Director Is Telling Us To "Stay Tuned"

If you had no idea who Luna Snow was when Marvel Rivals launched, you were in good company. While she has appeared in some comics, her debut was actually another spin-off game, Marvel Future Fight.

Now, it looks like Luna won't be alone much longer, as NetEase confirms that it has been greenlit to add its own characters to Marvel Rivals. This comes from an interview with MP1st, in which game director Guangyun Chen (better known as Guangguang) revealed that Marvel isn't opposed to original characters joining the roster.

Guangguang didn't have much to say now, simply confirming, “Yes, we are allowed to introduce original characters in Marvel Rivals.” When asked for specifics, he simply told fans to "stay tuned", so there could be something in the pipeline already.

We already know that NetEase has a year's worth of content already planned, and none of the leaks have revealed an original character just yet, so it seems that there won't be any joining the gang anytime soon. And when they do, it's anyone's guess who they will be. NetEase could create brand new heroes specifically for Marvel Rivals, or it could pull in more of Netmarble's creations...
