Skongposting has infiltrated the upper echelons of Gamescom due to the highly-plausible presence of Hollow Knight: Silksong. And like any good eldritch being, its worshipers must wear the cult's uniform.

Users on the Silksong subreddit, at first, didn't believe that this was real. Which is kind of sad, people should learn to hope for things more.
For those not in the loop: Hollow Knight Silksong is allegedly a game that reportedly exists. Ever since its announcement in 2019, people have been hoping. Waiting. For six years.
The lack of real information has caused people to... let's say "dig" (the chocolate cake incident is a good example of this) - and those that dug too deep found something in the depths. They returned with rainbow hair and big red noses.
Silksong fans wear the clown uniform with pride. We've gone past wearing it ironically to make fun of people hoping for Silksong. Now, they're embracing the meme by acknowledging that hope is futile, but hoping anyway.
And that hope is futile, after all. There's no way all these Gamescom teases will actually lead to a Hollow Knight: Silksong reveal, right?
