Nintendo had a lot to tell us during the Switch 2's first-ever Direct back in April, including the reveal that Kirby Air Riders, an unexpected sequel to Kirby Air Ride, is coming our way before the end of 2025. Now we know exactly when Kirby's new racing game will get here, as we were told an awful lot about Masahiro Sakurai's next game during a bumper 45-minute Nintendo Direct.
Even though Sakurai signed off without mentioning when Kirby Air Riders will actually be here, we did eventually get a release date after being shown an unexpectedly breathless 45 minutes crammed with new information. The Direct closed with confirmation that Air Riders will be here on November 20, 2025.
With it running for 45 minutes, it wasn't just the release date we were shown. Sakurai took us on the deepest of dives into the racing sequel, revealing its roster, vehicles, tracks, and abilities. Despite only needing two buttons to do pretty much everything, Air Riders looks like it could be the epitome of a kart game that's easy to play but difficult to master.
