Six years ago, when Hollow Knight: Silksong was first announced, nobody could've predicted the ensuing flood of Silkposts, Skongers, and die-hard 'Beleivers' ready to clog every single event's live chat with copium.

Thankfully, the wait is coming to an end. Team Cherry announced that it has a "special announcement" to make on August 21, following its reaffirmation at Gamescom Opening Night Live that the sequel is on track to launch later this year. But that's not all we have to look forward to this week.

A fan on Bluesky asked Bloomberg reporter Jason Schreier if Team Cherry will "address why there has been virtually no official communication in the last few years," to which he simply answered, "Yes."

This will be discussed in his upcoming story for Bloomberg—following a video call with Team Cherry co-founders Ari Gibson and William Pellen—which drops the same day as the special announcement. Maybe, just maybe, it will put an end to the fever dream that is the Silksong subreddit and all the Silkposts.
