Final Fantasy 14 producer Yoshi-P has confirmed that there's been "positive discussions" about the game being ported to the Nintendo Switch 2.
Although player numbers have been somewhat in decline over the past few months, Final Fantasy 14 still stands as one of the most popular MMOs out there. Despite that massive fanbase, there's not really a reliable way to play Final Fantasy 14 on the go outside of the Steam Deck and mobile port, which has caused many to want a dedicated Switch release.
While the original Switch seems like it would combust if it tried to run Final Fantasy 14, the Switch 2 is a different story altogether, and is surely much more capable of getting a proper port. Well, it seems like that's what Square Enix has in mind, or is at least considering in some regard.
VGC recently had the chance to talk to Final Fantasy 14 producer Naoki Yoshida while at Gamescom, which led to a discussion regarding the possibility of the game being ported over to the Switch 2. Yoshida confirmed that there have been some "positive discussions" about a Switch 2 port, and that he hopes for "good news" for fans soon....
