I can't make fun of Hollow Knight fans because I've been in the Half-Life trenches since I was seven years old, and we're no better. But even if I wasn't, all the Silkposting is oddly endearing. Especially seeing it first-hand through my colleagues, who braved every single leak, false flag, and showcase disappointment and came out the other end unscathed. Mostly.
So, when the Gamescom demo was announced, along with the "special surprise" for tomorrow, I was living vicariously through their copium.
One of our resident Skongers—reporter Sam Woods—flew to Germany to get hands-on with Silksong after a lengthy six-year wait, and was overjoyed at the brief portion that they got to play through. It was more Hollow Knight, sure, but at this point, that's more than enough. Still, they were surprised to find that it's pretty much the exact same demo that was shown off in 2019, featuring the exact same parts of the game.
