One of last year's low-key greatest (early access) games is finally coming to consoles. The Rogue Prince of Persia, previously held back from multiplatform greatness by an unreasonably strict Steam-only strategy, is slashing and dashing its way to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and - oh, yeah - technically, it's also coming to PC. The full launch, after all, isn't until... today.

Wait. Today? Indeed, the shadow drop tracks with our previously-known "August 2025" ticker, but it's still something of a pleasant surprise in its own right. What's more, console players (read: me) can give developer Evil Empire their richly-earned cash from day one, with Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 launches prepped for later this year. And yes, The Rogue Prince Of Persia is available on Game Pass from the get-go.

Throughout its development cycle, The Rogue Prince of Persia's studio compared notes with Ubisoft Montpellier's own fabulous 2024 release, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown.
