PlayStation added The Rogue Prince of Persia to the PS Plus Extra catalog with a surprise day-one drop on August 20. Sony's subscription service has had a busy month, with fans recently gaining access to nine new games on PS Plus Extra, as well as two new additions to the Premium tier.
PS Plus Extra recently added games like Coral Island, Mortal Kombat 1, Sword of the Sea, and Spider-Man Remastered. While many expected further roster expansions to the subscription service to not appear until September, it surprised fans with yet another drop in August.
As of August 20, PlayStation Plus Extra subscribers can download The Rogue Prince of Persia, which has just launched version 1.0. This new spin-off is a 2D action roguelike platformer developed by Evil Empire, the studio known for Dead Cells, widely regarded as one of the best roguelike games of recent years. The Rogue Prince of Persia has received an average score of 81 on the review aggregator site OpenCritic, and it holds a Very Positive user review rating on Steam, where it first launched in early access in May 2024.
