Do you want a new Splinter Cell game? I know I do, and while Ubisoft has announced a remake is in development, that was three years ago, with no updates on what's actually happening to the game.

Well, a new Splinter Cell project is on the way, but it's not what you're expecting.

While Ubisoft teased a Splinter Cell announcement a few months ago, it appears that it's not a new game, but rather the franchise is heading down the anime route, thanks to Netflix.

New Splinter Cell Anime Proves Ubisoft Hasn't Forgotten About The Franchise

According to Ubisoft, Splinter Cell: Deadwatch is by the writer of the John Wick franchise, and our first look at it will premiere later this week.

It's set to be a series, with no release date announced at this time. While this is great and all, where's the Splinter Cell Remake, Ubisoft? With a company in turmoil, you'd think they'd hasten to work on properties the gaming populace would look forward to, but nope.

Not discounting the anime, since it could get the same level of love as Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, which is a good thing. Additionally, this might kickstart sales of classic Splinter Cell...
