Hollow Knight: Silksong finally has a release date, as developer Team Cherry has announced during its special livestream that the game will officially launch on September 4. There is a God after all.

Hollow Knight fans have had to put up with years of teases, Xbox storefront updates, and dashed hopes following almost every game showcase to see even the smallest crumb of Silksong news. However, after years of spamming Skong in live chats and offering up literal subreddits to the gaming gods, actual proof that Silksong is real started to come out.

It first started with various updates to the game's Steam page, which were then followed up by Xbox actually acknowledging Hollow Knight: Silksong as a game coming to the system, alongside a bunch of other games coming in 2025. Then we had Nintendo finally acknowledge Silksong, as a brief snippet of new gameplay was shown off in the company's big April direct, and then an Australian video game museum exhibit claimed it would have playable Silksong in September.

While the big events like the Xbox Game Showcase, Summer Game Fest, and two separate Nintendo Directs all passed with nary a peep from Team Cherry, Xbox held out...
