Don't Expect To See Reviews For Hollow Knight: Silksong Until After It Launches

Hollow Knight: Silksong launches in just two weeks, which is absolutely wild to say given how long we've been waiting for news of any kind from Team Cherry. It's an extremely short period between release date reveal and launch, and one of my thoughts upon seeing this release date was about the poor critics out there that will have to cram it to get their reviews out on time.

It doesn't appear that will be happening though, as it was recently revealed by Bloomberg's Jason Schreier - following the publication of his interview with Team Cherry - that the studio won't be sending out review copies prior to launch. If you've been following the industry for a while, that's more often than not a gigantic red flag when it comes to a game's quality, but Team Cherry has apparently explained to Schreier why it's not handing out early codes.

In a post on BlueSky, Schreier has claimed that it's because Team Cherry believes it would be unfair for critics to be playing Hollow Knight: Silksong earlier than the game's initial Kickstarter backers and fans.
