Bandai Namco has released a video showing Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition running on the Nintendo Switch 2, following criticisms of the game’s performance on the system.

The first Nintendo Switch 2 Direct had several third-party announcements, kicked off by Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition. Not only was the game coming to a Nintendo system for the first time, but it had the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, along with fresh content, like cosmetics for Torrent.

Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition currently lacks a release date on Nintendo Switch 2, but it’s playable at Gamescom 2025. Bandai Namco didn’t allow any recordings, but that didn’t stop IGN from releasing a scathing video that criticized the game’s performance in handheld mode, with the frame rate plunging in the overworld.

Bandai Namco Has Released Elden Ring Footage On Switch 2

Seemingly in response to the IGN video, Bandai Namco’s Facebook page has uploaded a reel showing Elden Ring Tarnished Edition running on the Nintendo Switch 2 in handheld mode.

Unfortunately, the video hasn’t done a great job of assuaging the fears of fans, with it mostly showing characters standing around or moving slowly on the overworld, which doesn’t exactly tax the system.
