You Might Be Better Off Playing The Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake On A Base PS5 Than A PS5 Pro

I just bought a PlayStation 5 Pro. I'm glad that I did, because its U.S. price tag shot up by fifty bucks just three days later, but I'm also bummed because the first game I plan to play on it is Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, the superb-looking remake of the seminal classic Metal Gear Solid 3. And, er, it turns out that it's arguably a better idea to begin Naked Snake's Virtuous Mission on a plain old PS5 than its souped-up cousin.

This isn't the first time an unfortunate question mark has hung over the so-called Pro's head, although by and large, the mid-gen refresh does what's on the tin by providing better visuals and performance. (Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is an especially great example.) But man, Konami, please have a patch waiting in the wings.

The news comes by way of the ever-impressive folks at Digital Foundry, who ran their customarily extensive tests on Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater on both PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro.
