Just four days separate us from the next major Xbox exclusive coming to PlayStation, as Gears of War: Reloaded, a remastered version of the very first Gears title, is set to release next week on August 26.
That said, if you were planning on grabbing a physical copy of the game, either for collection purposes, to play, display or whatever the case may be, things took an interesting turn when it was rumored that the PlayStation 5 disc was nothing more than a means to download a digital copy of the game.
In other words, it was as useful as a drink coaster. However, that no longer seems to be the case, and the disc actually does have content on it.
As first spotted by Push Square, Does It Play?, a group dedicated to testing new releases to see how much of the game can be played offline, has reported that the campaign for Gears of War is on disc and can be played offline.
A patch will seemingly be needed to access everything else. In a follow-up reply on social media, it was also reported that split-screen co-op is also possible offline straight from the disc....
