Following the release of the Resident Evil 4 remake in 2023, horror fans might have assumed that Capcom is planning to remake Resident Evil 5 next.
If you're one of the many counting on that, well, we have bad news for you.
A recent rumor has surfaced that doesn't bode well for the future of the Resident Evil 5 remake, but it also mentions that another game in the franchise is being remade, and this might prove to be more popular for Resident Evil fans.
Resident Evil 5 Remake Currently Not In Development At Capcom
The latest bit of info comes from reliable horror game leaker Dusk Golem. Over on X (formerly Twitter), the insider/game developer said, "The info is there is no Resident Evil 5 Remake in development right now."
However, he also believes, "if fan demand continues to be high & things align, it's definitely possible it could happen in the future. But at this moment in time, a remade version of RE5 is not being worked on."
Bear in mind, this is unofficial info, and as such, should be taken with a pinch of salt. For all we know, Capcom has an RE5 remake cooking and ready...
