Please, please, please, file this under "possibly". I'm reporting on it because it is, indeed, distinctly possible, but I have reservations over the notion that Square Enix will use something like a Final Fantasy 7: Ever Crisis second-anniversary livestream to reveal much of anything about the FF7 Remake trilogy's heavily-anticipated threequel.
Just the same, if fans elect to read between the lines a bit, it's conceivable that we'll at least get something like concept art for the follow-up to last year's GOTY nominee, the spectacular Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. That won't exactly scratch the itch when the hopes are undoubtedly for something like more of a teaser trailer - again, that's bound to attract far more attention at a dedicated gaming industry event! - but it's something, and it would indeed be our first look. I have my doubts that FF7: Ever Crisis is doing all that hot for Square, but the free-to-play mobile (and PC!) title is surely performing better than its predecessor did.
