Astro Bot Director Says He's Ready To Fight Sony Over Control Of The Series

There's no denying that Sony has a lucrative franchise in its hands with Astro Bot, after the platformer won hearts and a ton of awards last year, which came as a surprise to almost everyone.

With a game exploding as hard as Astro Bot, chances are high that Sony's corporate overlords have lots of plans to generate revenue from the little white bot.

Fortunately, the game's director has said that they won't take any nonsense lying down when it comes to the creative decisions.

Astro Bot Devs Will Fight Back If Sony Interferes On Creative Side

The post-launch support of Astro Bot has been nothing short of amazing, as Team Asobi has dished out one free DLC after another. Sony didn't pivot the game to be a live-service game or anything that didn't fit the game's creative direction.

Speaking of which, in a new interview with the Financial Times, Astro Bot Creative Director Nicolas Doucet stated that the studio aims to strike a balance between Team Asobi's creative identity and aligning with Sony's broader ambitions.

Doucet said, "If the creative side started feeling ostracised or penalised... between us we’d have that conversation...That would definitely come to a boil."...
