In case you missed it, after remasters of Tales of Graces f and Tales of Symphonia, as well as a re-release of Tales of Vesperia, the next game in the larger "Tales of" franchise to be getting the modernization treatment is Tales of Xillia, the one-time PlayStation 3 exclusive.
Rumored for over a year, thanks to a rogue retail listing, the announcement was leaked, then made in the lead-up to gamescom, and the title will release on major platforms later this year on October 30. It's a major win for JRPG fans, except there's one major caveat: the game's performance on Nintendo Switch.
As first spotted by Nintendo Everything, the remaster of Xillia will hit 1080p when the Switch is docked, and 720p in handheld mode. However, no matter what, the game will not touch 60fps, and instead will run at 30fps with some slight fluctuations.
That's a pretty big bummer, especially considering that on the PS3, the game was able to achieve 60fps, albeit only in combat, and considering how much battling there is to do in Tales games, it's a rather nice compromise that isn't available on the Switch....
