A new job posting by Monolith Soft is hinting that a classic JRPG from the Nintendo Switch is going to receive a performance update on the Switch 2.

The Nintendo Switch 2 has a handful of original Switch games with performance patches, some paid, which drastically improve the visual quality and performance. There are still plenty of games in dire need of updates, and it’s likely that Nintendo will dole them out over the early years of the Switch 2’s lifespan.

One game that could be in line for the performance update is Xenoblade Chronicles 2. A post on the Gaming Leaks and Rumours Reddit revealed that Monolith Soft is hiring for a technical role that involves visual effects, with footage of Xenoblade Chronicles 2 used as an example.
