EA Issues New Statement on The Sims 4 Save File Corruption

Save file corruption in The Sims 4 is still a problem for players, potentially locking them out of worlds they've been creating for years, and publisher EA is letting fans know that it is still dedicated to weeding out these problems and eliminating them. These problems seem mainly centered around For Rent, an expansion for The Sims 4 that was released more than a year and a half ago, but a recent update seems to have caused a new slew of problems as well.

The Sims 4's For Rent expansion was originally released in December 2023. Centered around the theme of rental properties, For Rent lets players set up and manage apartments, duplexes, and town homes, providing an extra degree of realism for players who want to experience the joys and challenges of communal living, like potluck dinners and death from exposure to toxic mold.

A new report from EA states that the development team has already fixed 29 known issues with For Rent, but there are still 37 others that need to be addressed.
