Gamers can expect more Final Fantasy games to drop onto Xbox Game Pass this year.
Back at XO19, Microsoft had announced that ten games from the Final Fantasy series were coming to Xbox Game Pass. Only four of those games have made it to the service, leaving gamers wondering the rest of the titles would join Game Pass. Now Microsoft has confirmed that more Final Fantasy titles will be joining the service in 2021. While Microsoft has not given a reason on why it took so long for the games to come to their service, gamers can expect titles such as Final Fantasy X / X-2 HD Remaster and Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age to come to Game Pass soon.
"As we announced at XO19, we are excited to bring the Final Fantasy franchise to gamers with Xbox Game Pass," a Microsoft spokesperson told TrueAchievements. "We have done so throughout 2020 and will continue to do so in 2021 and beyond. We look forward to announcing specific launch dates for more final Fantasy titles in the future."
There are currently four Final Fantasy games available for Game Pass at the moment. They are Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy VIII Remastered, Final Fantasy IX, and Final Fantasy XV. All four games can be played on Xbox Game Pass and Game Pass for PC.
In other Game Pass news, it was revealed earlier this week that a big batch of games are making their way to the service soon. Today, games such as Injustice 2 and The Little Acre will be playable through the service. On January 14th, games such as Torchlight III and What Remains of Edith Finch will join Game Pass. You can see the full list of games here. It was also announced that four games will no longer be a part of Game Pass on January 15th. The four games are FTL: Faster Than Light, My Friend Pedro, Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet, and Tekken 7.
