Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 is one of those games that's been in development forever. First announced in 2019, the game went through developmental hell, as various senior devs were fired, the game almost got cancelled, finally ended up in the hands of another studio, and eventually re-revealed. Of course, it was delayed once again after that.

The Chinese Room and Paradox Interactive finally revealed a launch date of October 21 at Gamescom 2025. While fans finally had something to cheer about, they eventually faded away when it was announced that two of the clans in the game, Lasombra and Toreador, are paywalled behind a DLC or the $89.99 premium edition. As you'd expect, fans let their displeasure be known. However, it seems the Paradox might be listening to fans, as the publisher has addressed the situation.

As spotted by fans on ResetEra (via GamesRadar), the game's Discord channel featured a message by developer DebbieElla, suggesting that the publisher might be rethinking the decision to lock the two clans behind a paywall. It isn't exactly a confirmation, but it looks like the backlash may be swaying paradox's decision.
